Travels through New Mexico, and the beginnings of Arizona (Pie Town)

This first picture is in the walmart in New Mexico that we stayed overnight at.  The view was beautiful!  Their was a McDonalds in the store so we went and had breakfast there in the morning.

These next couple were taken by Kevin while we were on the road.  The beginning of New Mexico was so flat and consisted of hundreds of thousands of Bovine!! Like tons! I guess this is where the US gets most of their beef from.  According to all the signage.  As we went farther through it became very mountainous.  At one point the elevation was over 6000 feet.

These next few were taken at Valley of Fires, with an S.  Not to be confused with the Valley of Fire that is in Nevada.  This one is made of Lava.  It was a quick stop on the side of our scenic route to Arizona.

Pie Town is an actual place.  It is at the top of the land, that is what the sign said, and we stopped in.  We went and spoke to the friendly people behind the counter and the kids ended up buying some pieces of pie from them.  They liked the pie a lot! Oh and it came with cool wooden spoons to eat it with.

White Sands, New Mexico

It was hard to leave Texas but it was time to move on to other places.  Before that happened I had to go check out boots!  My girlfriend and I arrived at the recommended boots store when they opened and I ended up buying some beauties!
We drove for a few hours in the morning and explored the Roswell UFO museum.  After that we moved right along to White Sands.  This place was very cool.  The kids say this is their favorite thing so far.  We ended up driving the loop road to the end and stopping at a huge area that we had all to ourselves.  The kids (and adults) had a blast sledding down the gypsum sand and posing for photos and tossing the ball around.  We ended up making our dinner and eating right there on the beautiful sands of New Mexico.  The sunset was gorgeous !!

Cadillac Ranch! TEXAS

After a few hundred miles of driving we have arrived in time to enjoy our day here in big, bright and beautiful Texas.  We are staying at the Amarillo RV Ranch, it is next to The Big Texan Steak house.  Which we are also eating at tonight.  As I type this I sit outside my KZ in the warm shade and firm breeze waiting to be picked up by the complimentary Limo ride to the restaurant.  :)
After we arrived we actually unhooked the campers today for the fist time.  Then we were off to Cadillac Ranch for some spray painting fun.  We have been waiting 2 years to get here and eat at the Big Texan.
What an awesome experience and some really good steak and ribs!  We got to see someone from NY attempt to eat the 72 oz steak.  Not sure if he did it or not but we wished him luck.
Going to attempt to buy myself some cowgirl boots tomorrow!!
