So this place is only about 40 minutes from Watchman. If we would of known that Watchman was so beautiful and had more for us to explore then we would of stayed there longer. The purpose of moving to Sand Hollow was because we chose to UTV in the Mojave desert there. The ride started off in the sand hollow park at 7:30 and we didn't want to be late, we figured it was just easier. The ATVing was awesome! We all enjoyed it so much. I want one to use at home :)
The problem was that is was so freaking hot. My friends thermometer was out in the sun at one point and was up to 120 degrees. We ended up going to the movies one day to avoid the heat, when we left the sign on the building said 111 degrees. Basically my camper was melting, our AC's on the campers just couldn't keep up and those RV fridges, forget about it! Everyone talks about how it is a "dry heat" out here; well let me tell you it is dry all right, so dry the kids keep having bloody noses, our skin is scaly, the sensitive skin under our eyes hurts. Dry heat or no, it is still HOT. The guides on the ride we took were awesome and told us a lot about the region and history of this place they were also big fans of the area. Me, not so much. I will be back one day to explore Zion more but in the spring or fall not in the summer. We were told it is over 100 degrees for about 3 months of the year here, no thanks all set! Oh and I lost my bar that lets me put the weight distributing hitch on the camper and we all left with swimmers itch. Let me say if you haven't already got it, we couldn't wait to leave this place!
